UFC Undisputed 2009 Review...

Having been a UFC fan for about 9 years now and it being my second favourite sport after football (Man United FTW) I was stupidly excited to hear they were making a UFC game for the PS3. This isn't the first UFC game, there have been numerous games before for the Dreamcast, PS2 and Xbox and they were ok, but to be honest they were pretty crap lol.

So May 22nd UFC Undisputed came out and its FN awesome. Pretty much everything I wanted in the game is in the game. 80 fighters, online mode, a classic fights mode where you have to recreate classic fights and a career mode which is pretty sweet.

The detail in the game is insane, when I played the demo I was impressed but you could only use two fighters...I was worried pretty much everyone would fight the same, same kicks and punches, same submissions, but thats fair from what its like. Pretty much ever fighter (mainly the top names tbf) has a unique style. E.g. BJ PEnn has a unique japp, Rampage has his unique Hook and Uppercut, certain fighter who can't do headkicks, don't do headkicks in the game.

The controls are pretty straight forward when stand up fighting, the face buttons do left punch, right punch, left kick, right kick, hold the shoulder buttons for low and high kicks, right stick for grapple and counters...the ground game is where it gets technical when on top or below a guy *PAUSE* you can do minor and major transitions to improve your position and gain an advantage, these are done via small rotations on the right stick.

Anywho the game is amazing, anyone in MMA or not will love it, get it now...

"Me and Westwood blasting off, jacking off in a pair of acid wash bumping Asher Roth." - Eminem

WOWZER...

Man United :-(

Yesterdays game sucked :-(, I was excited for the first 10 mins where we looked like we were gonna do something, if Park was more on the ball we could have got that early goal and that would have got our spirits up. BUT!!! that didn't happen and after that 10 minute mark we got ruined. Eto'o scores a goal out of nothing, cuts in on vidic like he was there Anderson, lets Iniesta make passes without closing him down, just all all wrong.

For the first half Giggs might aswell not have been there (I wish he would bloody F-OFF), second half just the same, Anderson had a shocker, he didn't seem to wanna close anyone down and tackle them. Carrick passing just disappeared, the passes he would normally easy make just went wrong. Rooney looked like someone who really didn't wanna play on the left, Rio and Vidic just seemed off the pace, falling for the most bait skills ever, Park didn't do much, he was close to scoring all the time which always bloody happens.

He might be my boy but the only player who looked like they were trying and turned up for us was of course Ronaldo. He did some great runs, took on players, seemed to be the only untied player not scared to want the ball, sucks he couldnt get it enough and had zero support.

Barcelona played great, but we let them play, iniesta or messi would recieve the ball and there wouldnt be a man united player anywhere near them, that just makes no sense at all at the highest possible level.

Anywho I don't wanna talk about it anymore, I am over it, the best team won, at least it was the best team in the world and not some swag team.

The game showed some changes are needed to compete at the top top level, I thought our center mids were great and they are, but there mentality was poor on the night, I think with fletch or hargreaves in there it would have been a better game for us. We need to get rid of Teve and get in a goal scorer as we can't just rely on Ronaldo.

End of the day we won 2 trophies this season, so its not all bad, Champions of England, not champion of Europe this year :-(

Fighting?????

Quick review for the film Fighting...DON'T SEE IT...lol. Well to be honest its not THAT bad, but I wouldn't recommend paying to see it. The film is pretty much a rip of Van Dammes film AWOL which came out in 1989, except that film had some sort of purpose and story behind it, this does not.

The whole background for the film is very cheap and it's all explained really poorly. The fighting is a big part of it I guess, but its more of a love story really, a really crap love story at.

The co-star of the film is Terrence Howard who has one of, if not the most annoying voices ever, he puts you to sleep and makes you want to through a bowling ball through the screen. The female lead is played by a chick called Zulay Henao and her name in the film is actually Zulay.

Anywho to wrap it up, don't pay to see this, it aint that crap, but it aint that good

Hollywood Holt?????

I came across this guy a while ago but wasn't really paying to much attention, until a couple days ago when I was checkout DJ Wonder Blog for the new episodes of the radio show Lip Serivce and I noticed he was one of the guest.

After listening to him on the show he seemed like a really cool guy, funny as hell and during the breaks in the interview they played some of his music and it was pretty cool.

Was surprised to find out ' HOLLYWOOD Holt' was actually from Chicago, but i am sure he has a reason, he did say, but I cant remember right now lol...

Anywho the dudes a rapper, pretty witty and funny with his rhymes, he works with his DJ/ Cousin Million Dollar Mano who is also M.I.A's DJ. Together they are a hilarious pair and seem to gel well personally and musically.

Anywho below is one of his songs..ironically titles 'Hollywood'

If you wanna hear more of him check out the Lip Service show I heard him on, he is hilarious...Part 1 and Part 2 .

Album Review Time...

Decided to do a lil album review on some of the new/ old albums I have been listening to lately while bored at work...

Asher Roth - Asleep in the bread Aisle...
This was the album I was most looking forward to this year. Heard about Asher like 7-8 months ago, with his roc boys remix 'roth boyz' and I thought, this kids pretty nice. He then released his first mixtape the green house effect which was just fire, he spat over some crazy beats and I was just really excited for his proper album.

Anywho back to the actual album, its 12 songs deep and I love 9 of them, like 1 and 2 our just ok for me. Which to me means this is a dope ass album. My fav songs on the album are probably 'LA Di Da' (check the youtube vid below), 'She Don't Wanna Man' and 'His Dreams'. His dreams is such a big song, its Asher telling the story of how his dad wanted to be a star musician and he now sees what its like through his son's eyes...that's what I think its about anyways lol.

His flow is nice, he has some interesting subject matters, its not all about smashing college chicks and getting drunk. Some deeper songs in there also, like the 'His Dreams' song I mentioned. Peeps try and say he sounds like Em, to me he doesn't at all, he even has a song on there called 'As I Em' with Chester French in which he addresses all that business. Also having listened to Eminem's album, its so dark and gritty, they are nothing alike which is good.

Eminem - Relapse...
I am embarrassed to say but this is kind of the first Eminem album I have listened to all the way through. Which is strange as he is one of my fav's and I love his music. Basically back in secondary school times when his first albums came out, I didn't have the funds to buy them so only really heard them at my mate Adam's house. Back then I wasn't paying attention to much, I knew it was dope and he said some wild ish, but I never really gave them a good good listen.

So now comes Relapse, been looking forward to this since he did a lil relapse freestyle which was just crazy. The first single 'We Made You' was Em's classic jokey first single which is pretty good and the video is hilarious. I knew the album would be a bit dark as from interviews he had been speaking abotu how he had some serious drink and drug probs and had been to rehab, so the outlandish ish he is spitting isn't to surprising.

Fav songs on the album are probably 'Beautiful' which seems to be everyone's stand out track, 'Bagpipes from Bhagdad' and 'My Mom'. The last 2 mentioned are HILARIOUS..(if you didn't know caps, means its true)...Bagpipes is the song when he goes IN!!! on Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, calling her the C-word and everything. Then 'My Mom' is where he talks about how his mum fed him nothing but drugs when he grew up lol. Some crazy ish but said with a crazy delivery.

Relpase is part 1 of 2 albums he will be releasing this year, so far so good, I really like it, not his best album IMO, but still dope.

Adidas x Def Jam 25th Anniversary Pack...

Adidas and Def Jam Records have always been iconic staples in Hip-Hop. Since Run DMC made shelltoes famous by removing the laces and turning the tongues all the way up in the 80s, the two have always complemented one other. As Def Jam continues to celebrate their 25th anniversary this year, Adidas will help commemorate this historic occasion by releasing several themed colorways of some of their most classic models, The Forum, Nizza, Samba, Stan Smith and Superstar this Fall/Winter.

In addition to pairing with the label once again, some of Def Jam’s top recording artists will have renditions made of each of the models set to be released. Method Man, Redman, Ghostface, and Young Jeezy will all have styles available. No pricing information is available yet, but a full pic set of the pack has already been released Via Adifan.

WOOP WOOP We are champions...

So yesterday my team had 2 games back to back, we had to win 1 and either draw the next or lose but due to just being ahead by goal difference, we couldnt really afford to lose.

Anywho we did great in the first match winning 5-0. But as soon as the second match started they scored in 30 seconds and it wasn't looking great for us. People seemed to be tired and just not on the second game, perhaps thinking after winning 5-0 it will be easy. Anywho we eventually scored to make it 1-1, then they scored again to make it 2-1 :-( then we scored, and scored, and scored and eventually won 4-2 to become champions WOOP WOOP.

So thats now 2 season in a row I have won the league with teams, and last year was the first league I ever won so I am very excited.

Nick Cannon's WALL of TEXT responce to Eminem...WOWZER...

First off this is the song, give it a listen.

This is what Nick Cannon had to say on his BLOG...

Well, well, well. Fresh off the plane with my wife from our second honeymoon on the beautiful secluded islands of the Maldives and what do I find in my email box? A mediocre (at best) Eminem record that sounds like it was written in 2001. At first I thought it was old material that had been dug up from when dude “fantasized” about having a pretend fling with Mariah. I was thinking to myself, “Hey that was before me so it is really none of my business, so I’m going to give him a pass.”

So as I continued to semi enjoy Marshall’s rhyme scheme and flow, I mean let’s be honest dude used to be incredible. He was a witty lyrist with dope delivery and timing. Some even say, one of the best to ever do it. I had nothing but respect for this dude. But all of a sudden I hear my name in the verse! My first reaction was like, “This is his new shit??? Wow, that’s too bad…” Then I felt sorry for him because he must really be stuck in the past. Not only has his music not evolved, but also homeboy is still obsessed with my wife, the same female that wouldn’t let him get to second base from 8 years ago! He even describes his desperate lameness in this bad excuse for storytelling track. That’s some real middle school shit right there! (What type of grown ass man lies about getting with a chick) Only Slim Lamey! LOL!

So as I further examine the track, I hear dude cross the line. He begins to call my wife out of her name! Now as y’all know, I don’t take that type of nonsense lightly. So on some grown man shit I’m instantly like, I got to get at this Lame. I know it’s only entertainment and I’m all for freedom of speech. But I’m from the school of thought where if you are tough enough to talk shit, you got to be tough enough to deal with the consequences that come with tough guy shit talking! Then the little angel on my shoulder said, “No Nicholas, there is no need to play into his negativity. He is just a troubled soul yearning for the lost spotlight. You must be Christ like and turn the other cheek”

But then the dude on the other shoulder said, “ What Nigga?! Is you scared?! You can’t let no man ever disrespect your wife! Especially not some Peroxide drenched homophobic has-been! This is like some Paquiao vs. Hatton shit! He is underestimating you with his ass out and you can drop him in the first round!”

Then, without listening to either one of the voices on my shoulders, I analyzed the situation from a logical perspective. Am I going to battle Eminem and try to out rap him? No, that would be stupid. The dude is nice on the mic. Even though nowadays he lacks substance, rapping about when he used to be hot. Like when Al Bundy gloats about his High school football prime.

Then I asked myself should I go find this Bitch and just whoop his little ass? But that might have just been the Creatine and protein shakes talking! LOL. Even though most people don’t know that I’m nice in the ring and have been training in boxing and Martial Arts for years that would just be childish and silly of me to bully this dude. He clearly has been picked on all his life and I would hate to add to his deep-rooted pain. As we all know he has had a hard life and has major insecurity issues and is very confused and unhappy with himself. So a guy like that doesn’t really need another ass whoopin, he needs a hug. We should really pray for his troubled heart.

So just when the good guy in me is about to emerge and shine through, something hits me… Something bigger than rap beefs, something bigger than jealousy infused insults, something bigger than lackluster attention seeking punchlines, something bigger than artistic expression. I realized, that this so-called man has just disrespected and slanderized one of the world’s most significantly influential artists, one of the most notable BLACK females of our time, the incredibly cherished, globally loved and world-embraced woman of color, Mariah Carey!

Some people may not realize or tend to forget that my wife is a Black woman. And she has had enough difficulty in her life dealing with racial and ethnicity issues. Believe it or not, Mariah is the same racial mixture as our beloved president Barack Obama. [Black Father + White Mother= BLACK]

Maybe I’m going too far, but I thought we got passed the days where white men could spew vulgar obscenities at our beautiful queens and get away with it. What’s next? Are we going to let this trash say something horrible about our lovely first lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama? Or would Marshall have talked sideways out of his neck like this about Oprah Winfrey? This act of racist bigotry cannot go unnoticed. Calling my wife a “cunt” and a “whore” is way worse than anything Don Imus could have ever said. So trust, repercussions will be served. Anybody got Al Sharpton’s number?! LOL

Let’s not forget about Eminem’s amateur mixtape rants of calling African Americans Nigger and how he hates “Black Bitches”. How did we let him get away with that in the first place?! He is a natural born racist in disguise. Someone tell this coward that he finally barked up the wrong tree. For his entire career he strategically only tried to beef with people he could bully. I mean, what real man picks fights with women? Real MC’s battle other real MC’s. Ask Nas, ask Jay Z, you didn’t see them starting beefs with women! That is truly some punk shit!

So I’m putting this out there now. Marshall Mathers, you need to holler at me on some grown man shit. Man to man, let’s meet up and deal with this like adults. This is my invitation to you, whenever and wherever you like sir. So when you come out of your introverted hiding place and ask your bodyguards if you can go out and play by yourself, I’m here Pimp!

Your blatant disrespect not just to Black women but ALL women in general must stop. You are a despicable excuse for a man. I can’t even see how you can call yourself a father! Imagine if someone said half the stuff you say about women to your daughter, Hayley. (And I’m pretty sure they will because you got it coming Marshall.) That’s how Karma works.

You sold your little records and made a little bit of change but now you are stepping in the wrong territory. You may have been able to rape and pillage our artform like an old school Caucasian con man and nobody said anything because we respected your talent, but now you’ve made the ultimate mistake. Don’t you know that the black woman is the foundation and the strongest force in our culture? Take notes homey, Elvis would have never disrespected Aretha Franklin or Diana Ross. You were supposed to just do your little song and dance, make your little racist money and call it a day. But no, you had to dishonor the black man’s most precious counterpart.

I’m taking full action on you Eminem. I don’t know why no one has stood up to your bitch ass yet. But I guess it’s going to take a corny, wack rapping, boy toy from Nickelodeon to set you straight. And trust, I am going to be relentless. Even though I got a lot of other obligations and occupations, you are my new full time job “homey”! As a matter of fact I think you going to bring my wack rhymes out of retirement! That’s right haters; you can thank Eminem because I’m going to start rapping again! LOL Just for him! And don’t forget about the jokes! We coming at you hard body!! Non-stop on your Manic-depressive-Insecure-Maclovin-Nazi- Liza Minelli haircut havin-lookin ass!! [Pause] That’s what I do all day Bitch!

So Miss Marshall, I’m going to make you wish you never spoke my name and regret the ungodly things you said about my wife. This is going to be fun! It’s however you want it! Just remember, you did this to yourself! Your legacy has now been tainted from this day forth! You will now be known as the rapper who lost to Corny-ass Nick Cannon!!!

Fashion critics, such as Hypebeast, say Jay-Z's forthcoming shoe attempt has that "grown up" look.

"The branding is minimal and decidedly a little more grown up," writes HypeBeast.

R+Evolution is presented in a simple high-top silhouette with a black leather upper, hook style lacing towards the top, and an all-white sole.

This looks like a mix between the Supra Sky Tops and the Yeezy's...week effort Jay.

Drake Signs to Universal Motown...

XXL reports:

The bidding war is over. XXLMag.com has learned from reliable sources that red-hot rapper Drake has just signed a deal with Universal Motown. Word is that Interscope and Atlantic Records also put deals on the table for Drizzy.

The Toronto rapper reached a deafening buzz in the last few months with the release of So Far Gone, his third mixtape featuring appearances from Lil Wayne, Bun B, Trey Songz and Lloyd, among others. The mixtape has also produced a few fan-favorites, including “Successful” and “Best I Ever Had,” which is presently gaining momentum at radio stations, including New York’s Hot 97. Still high off touring alongside mentor Lil Wayne on his I Am Music tour, Drake recently embarked on his own So Far Gone tour—hitting markets like Chicago, Westchester, NY and more recently Atlanta.

The signing ironically comes months after the rapper addressed being passed over by Universal Motown on “Say What’s Real,” another standout track on which he spits over Kanye West’s “Say You Will” on So Far Gone.

“I’ve always been something that these labels can’t buy, especially if they try to take a piece of my soul/And Sylvia be tellin Tez, ‘Damn, Drake fly’/And he just be like, ’silly motherfucka, I know’/That was yo bad/How could you pass up on him/He just take them records and he gas up on em’/Wayne will probably put a million cash up on him/Surprised nobody ever put yo ass up on him,” Drake spat in reference to a conversation between Cortez Bryant, Wayne’s manager and Sylvia Rhone, Universal Motown’s president.

The signing comes a few months after Kid CuDi inked a deal with Motown. At press time, Universal reps had no comments on the signing.

5-7-09 CORRECTION - It seems Drizzy is close to inking a deal, but it isn't all done yet.
