Being Injured SUCKS!!!

So this is the second season in a row where I have injured myself at the start of the season. Last season I pulled my groin at training, after my first league game, this time I sprained my ankle 'during' my second 'pre-season' game..DOH. I probably could see this coming as during the game I had 2 left foot crossing opportunities and flopped them both, then I got played down the line and did another one and somehow must have fell on it funny as it started to hurt.

I was sooo pissed when this happened as on the way to football I told my mate Sol its not about getting injured early in a game it sucks. As we were both looking forward to playing football. Anywho I managed to carry on playing, played another 70 minutes before I was eventually substituted, at this time I welcomed it as I figured the game is pretty much done, no point getting smashed in a tackle or something.

So at this point it was hurting, but not to to much, I managed to walk home without to much of a serious limp really, but after an hour of resting at home the swelling came *pause* my ankle just got big and I couldn't put any weight on the blasted thing.

I did the classic ice it and elevate it but that was after a couple hours of leaving it on the floor which is probably why the swelling happened :-(. Sunday still couldn't walk, Monday I could actually put the ball of my foot on the floor, then Tuesday I was actually able to walk a bit and i finally left the house lol.

I went to training to see the physio, he said it wasn't anything to serious because if so i wouldn't be able to put weight on it like I can. He gave it a rub down *pause* and rubbed some cream thingy on it and said to just continue doing what I was doing with the ice.

Today its feeling slightly better again, but still can't walk properly yet. Defo know chance of me playing on Saturday which sucks, but I am used to being injured now, just happy it ain't'my groin this time as that just sucks and I get scared to sprint.

Another thing I am pissed about is I can't go to the bloody gym :-( my progress will be stopped for a week, maybe it will be good with a nice full weeks rest though...

Managers Player of the Season????????

So yesterday at my team (Globe Rangers) we had a 7 a side tournament followed by the presentations for all the teams this season.

Lets start with the tournament, it was messed up from the moment we got there lol. There were supposed to 2 teams from our squad alone but only 10 people turned up, but it was someone's bright idea to play 2 teams still, so it was pretty much the same team playing with the change of 2 or 3 players each game...so eventually it would get to a point where we would have to play ourselves lol.

Anywho that didn't turn out to great ,at on point we had to play like 3 games in a row as the A team had a game, then the B team, then the A team, so we played twice as many games as the other teams and fatigued defo kicked in.

We did fairly good considering, just losing 2 games we shouldn't have to the team who won the tournament, fair play to them.

So on to the presentations, which took a long ass time, I didn't realise Globe had some many teams. Anywho when it came to our Trophies, players player of the season went to 30 goal scoring Ebi, the manager did a managers player of the season and it went to.....me..who? ME!!! lol was really chuffed to get this and goal of the season went to Sol for a supposed 35 yard screamer with his left foot, which I didn't see and supposedly the keeper was about 20 stone and looked like Rick Ross...

Anywho was a pretty good event, bravo to Globe, we got out league winners trophy which was a beauty, you can see it in the pics below...

Man United :-(

Yesterdays game sucked :-(, I was excited for the first 10 mins where we looked like we were gonna do something, if Park was more on the ball we could have got that early goal and that would have got our spirits up. BUT!!! that didn't happen and after that 10 minute mark we got ruined. Eto'o scores a goal out of nothing, cuts in on vidic like he was there Anderson, lets Iniesta make passes without closing him down, just all all wrong.

For the first half Giggs might aswell not have been there (I wish he would bloody F-OFF), second half just the same, Anderson had a shocker, he didn't seem to wanna close anyone down and tackle them. Carrick passing just disappeared, the passes he would normally easy make just went wrong. Rooney looked like someone who really didn't wanna play on the left, Rio and Vidic just seemed off the pace, falling for the most bait skills ever, Park didn't do much, he was close to scoring all the time which always bloody happens.

He might be my boy but the only player who looked like they were trying and turned up for us was of course Ronaldo. He did some great runs, took on players, seemed to be the only untied player not scared to want the ball, sucks he couldnt get it enough and had zero support.

Barcelona played great, but we let them play, iniesta or messi would recieve the ball and there wouldnt be a man united player anywhere near them, that just makes no sense at all at the highest possible level.

Anywho I don't wanna talk about it anymore, I am over it, the best team won, at least it was the best team in the world and not some swag team.

The game showed some changes are needed to compete at the top top level, I thought our center mids were great and they are, but there mentality was poor on the night, I think with fletch or hargreaves in there it would have been a better game for us. We need to get rid of Teve and get in a goal scorer as we can't just rely on Ronaldo.

End of the day we won 2 trophies this season, so its not all bad, Champions of England, not champion of Europe this year :-(

WOOP WOOP We are champions...

So yesterday my team had 2 games back to back, we had to win 1 and either draw the next or lose but due to just being ahead by goal difference, we couldnt really afford to lose.

Anywho we did great in the first match winning 5-0. But as soon as the second match started they scored in 30 seconds and it wasn't looking great for us. People seemed to be tired and just not on the second game, perhaps thinking after winning 5-0 it will be easy. Anywho we eventually scored to make it 1-1, then they scored again to make it 2-1 :-( then we scored, and scored, and scored and eventually won 4-2 to become champions WOOP WOOP.

So thats now 2 season in a row I have won the league with teams, and last year was the first league I ever won so I am very excited.

We BLEW It...

So I had my cup semi-final today...it was against a team called Debden...MY LORRDDD we blew it. The game started off pretty well, first 20 or so minutes we played well had a few chances, then our striker femi gets taken down i nthe box for a penalty. Our captain steps up but the keeper makes a good save. 10 mins later they break and our player is forced to take the foul and they get a penal AND score it.

So half time we are 1-0 down, we come out in the second half playing much better, we manage to pull a goal back through a classy pass down the line to our striker who put it away nicely. Then I get a corner that is just missed by everyone they clear it, someone kicks it back into the box then our captain simon bangs it bottom corner to make it 2-1.

10 mins to go we give a silly freekick 40 yards from the goal, there player chips it over the defence and there striker flicks a header over the keepr to make it 2-2 :-( I was sooooooooooooooooo upset.

Due to it being a mid week game and it getting so dark it went straight to penalties...which i happen to have a video of (5th penalty is mine)

Not good :-(

Twas a good day...

After missing 2 football matches last week it was great to be back today. As soon as I walked into the dressing room to say whats good to everyone, everyong said to me 'Damn you lost weight' wasn't to happy about that lol. As someone who is trying to put on weight, my recent sickness has f*cked me over big time, not really eating for a week has made me drop some serious poundage.

Anywho back to today...we had a double header against the team top of our league, who have only lost one game this season. We HAD to win both games to put ourselves in the driving seat for the league. This wouldn't be easy with the stupidly hot weather and the fact there top of the league.

I turned up expecting to play at some point, but probably not start, to my delight I had a starting role left midfield (my fav position). The first game went really well, we were 2-0 up in in the first half with goal from our striker Femi. Second half they nicked a crappy goal from us and put us under a lil pressure. Then our other striker Ebi came on and banged in a quality goal from Femi's cross to make it 3-1 and the game was done and dusted.

Second game started with pretty much the same team that ended the first game, I played pretty well in the second game considering I was in bits from having not played or trained for nearly 2 weeks. We ended up nicking 1 goal and we were able to hold out for the victory.

Next was the big game, Man U vs Spurs. Watched the first half at the football teams hut. There was 5 untied fans and 3 Spurs fans. I was running my mouth as usual, then 25 mins later I was in bits looking for my bag so I could go home :-( I ended up leaving at half time as the stupid freeview kept freezing.

When I got in it was 2-1 :-) then BANG 2-2 I was over the bloody moon, ran to tell my mum, when I got back 3-2 WOWZER, then 4-2 o_O then 5-2 WTF!!! I was so happy its untrue.

I texted my spurs friend from my football team saying woop woop and to quote his response 'Fuck you' lmao...loves it.

What a good day for football, can't wait for match of the day now...

Another lame turnout at football...

So another globe rangers training session and again less then 11 people turn up. I cannot remember the last time we had a training where there was at least a full squad there. Its turning into a big joke, seeing as on a saturday we will have 15 players turn up, but at training we get 4-8 every week :-(.

For some reason I was looking forward to todays training, then when I finally got there I remember that knowbody goes and there was only 4 other people there. It wasn't looking to be good. Thankfully 3 others turned up later and we did a lil training session.

We started with laods of tiring and annoyign shuttle runs which totally had me gassed, I was in bits after the first run, it felt like the first time i had ran for a year or something. After loads of this annoyness we played a lil 4 a side game which was pretty good as my team rinsed the other team.

So I get home from football and turn the tv on to see the Man U vs Porto score is 1-1, I was NOT happy, then Tevez scored and i am over the moon, I was just about to text all my Man U mates brapppp then fn Porto scored to ruin my day :-(.

Not the best day for football...

Another BIG win for Globe...

So yesterday was my Team Globe Rsngers 11th league game of the season. That number might seem low and it is, thats because the team was entered into 5 different cups and we got fairly far in most of them. I think we are still in one of them actually. So our whole league schedule has been messed about.

The top team in our league Old Minchendenians II have played 13 games and our on 36 points where as second has 34 points but has played 17 games. We are on 11 games with 27 points, meaning if we win our games in hand on the top team we will be 3 behind. Which is not that bad considerng we have to play them twice.

Anywho yesterdays game was really good, one of the teams best performances of the season, our passing was crisp, the finishing was really on point. We got to the pitch, which was the ground behind Fairlop power league and right away I noticed the ground was hard as fuck, which meant loas of high bouncing from goal kicks, what a bloody nightmare. Luckily for me I had bought a pair of Adidas copas in the morning as I feared the pitch would be like that and my current boots were in bits.

Anywho the manager starts to pick the starting line up, gets to the right back position where I play and he says another player is playing there and I am like O_o wowzer, I got owned there, then he pics the 3 midfielders, still no Ashley o_O then he picks the 3 forwards and surprisingly there's my name WOOOOHOOOO.

So I finally get to play in a offensive position for like the 4th time this season which was great, early in the game I had 2 shots which the keeper did well to save, I thought it was finally my day to get my goal but that didn't bloody happen. Second half I had a excellent chance where I beat to mean then was pretty much 1 on 1 with the keeper but instead of shooting I decided to try and beat another guy on the way and it was there I got tackled and ended up getting off a weak shot.

Anywho we played great, we won 6-2, 2 goals from our striker ebi, 2 from the right forward Femi, 1 from Marney and 1 from the Cappo Andrew. All were pretty great goals, couldn't really pick the best one out of the bunch. Another good win, got to keep it up if we are gonna win the league...

We beat the dirty ****ers...

So my football team played one of our rival teams in a cup match saturday. I didn't know to much of the rivalry before hand and nor did most of the team as most are new players. But from what we hear they have NEVER beaten this club, they lost 9-1 last season and we knew they were dirty bastards (which they were).

They flew in with tackles, tackles from behind and the ref let them get away without getting booked, I do one foul and I get a yellow card straight away.

Anywho we got to the ground I was delighted to see it was a pretty nice pitch for once and not one that was all muddy as this time of the season, you see that alot. We came out and did our warm up, back to the changing rooms and after the keeper was obviously picked he says my name next and i was like huh o_O he goes 'ash I want you to play right back, you should have kept your mouth quite'. I couldn't help but laugh as at training on Thursday I was saying how I could play left or right back and had played there previously, so he put me there, left back was actually another guy who said at training they could play in defence, and he was a center mid.

Anywho I actually really enjoyed it there, right back is a fun position as you get quite alot of the ball, from the keeper, centerbacks, midfielders and you can even over lap the wingers. I played fairly well, had some scumbag boy playing left mid who if i touched once *pause* he would bloody throw and elbow to get me off, so I knew he was goign to be a difficult customers. Luckily I kept him fairly quite, he didn't beat me once, only joy he had was on a break where he broke threw the middle.

We ended up winning 5-3, the goals we gave away were fucking shocking. 2 headers from corners and they scored a goal on the break that should never have happened. In our team our striker ebi scored 2 good goals, the portugeezer miguel scored with his first touch when he came on, then tich scored directly from a corner, and i have no bloody idea who scored the 5th, hmmm...maybe it was 4-3 lol. Anywho it was really good besides the shit we let in.

Dunno whats gonna happen next week as i am sure he will bring in some new defenders as both our left backs our out for 8 weeks with ankle injuries.

Anywho that will do for now, i'm out.

Sub'D again noooooooooooooo...

So I got another start on Saturday for my football team. I was happy and surprised seeing as I had no chance to shine last week and he seemed to think me and the other winger did nowt. Anywho He says he is playing a 433 so I expect to be on the bench, seeing as I am a winger but I was mistaken, he plays me in a midfield 3. Now center mid is a position I am not very comfortable with as I am not gonna be smashing someone in a tackle, or getting elbow in the face for headers so I wasn't sure why I was there, luckily it quickly changed into a 442 as it wasn't working.

So I was now playing left mid where I wanna be. I thought I had a good first half got in a few crosses and and beat my man a few times, was defending and attacking. Somehow we were 2-1 down at half time to a team I would consider to be shit. I was at fault kind of for one of the goals as the guy I was marking at the corner scored, but along his run he managed to pull my shirt over my head so I couldnt even see him, yet the ref didn't see it.

Come half time I wasn't to worried about coming off as I thought I was playing well, a few players said I was playing good but BOOM he hits me with it and I was off, now thats 2 games back since I have been injured, 55 mins and now 45 mins, this isn't looking good for me.

Anywho as soon as the game started back our striker Ebi banged in a goal to make it 2-2 and we were back in the game. Then came the kilelr blow as we were pushing for a goal they got a goal with 8 mins to go and there it was out of our second cup in 2 weeks.

Saturday is going to be a big game, playing at leyton county ground a win is a MUST, cant afford to lose 3 on a bounce when we had been undefeated until 2 weeks ago.

Football training was a bitch...

Not only does it suck that training is all the way in Mile End which is close for like 2 players, I bloody left my oyster card on the train, so on top of the £2 i paid to get on the train i had to pay the man £3 for the journey again.

And the running we did yesterday, seemed to drag on forever. Hopping up every stair of a pretty high staircase, then running along ,the down another one, then down another one, then up another one then up another one. This felt like it lasted at least 15 minutes. Then jumping over hurdles, then loads of other crazy ish.

How I played football after I will never know. I guess it all benefits you in the end.
