Gym Day 74..Chest and Triceps...

Just got back from the gym, surprised I left the house to go as I felt reallllly lazy this morning. Stayed up late again watching WEC 48, saturday night I tried to watch it and 45 mins in my laptop overheated and shut down...I was NOT impressed. So I spent all Sunday downloading it and watched it late last night..and you wouldn't believe it..20 mins into the main event it over heats and turns off again..someone really didn't want me to watch it lol.

So I gave up on it for a bit, noticed WWE Extreme Rules was on so watched that, when that finished at 3am or so I tried to turn my lappy on and thank God it went on..managed to watch the fight then headed off to bed.

So that was a late sleep, I woke up at 8.30!!! why oh why, I set my alarm for 10.30, why am I waking up so early? Anywho I wasn't feeling the best, when I'm up I'm up..it was Chest and Tricep day which can be fun so I got my ass to the gym.

After this workout I looked in the mirror and thought, hmm...maybe I should give this cardio stuff a go lol.

Chest
- 4 sets of flat bench press, 40 kgs for 15 reps, 60 kgs for 12 reps, 80 kgs for 6 reps, 60 kgs for 10 reps.
- 3 sets of incline chest press, 40 kgs for 12 reps, 60 kgs for 8 reps, 60 kgs for 7 reps.
- 3 sets of incline flys, 12.5 kgs dbs for 12 reps, 16 kgs for 10 reps, 16 kgs for 10 reps.
- 2 sets of incline db press, 22 kg dbs for 10-12 reps.
- 2 sets of pec dec, 63 kgs for 12 reps, 70 kgs for 10 reps.
- 1 set of dips, 10 reps.

Triceps
- 4 sets of push downs, 50 kgs for 15 reps, 60 kgs for 10 reps, 70 kgs for 8 reps, 40 kgs for 12 reps.
- 2 sets of cable overhead extensions, 30 kgs for 12 reps, 40 kgs for 10 reps.
- 1 sets of rope pushdowns, 35 kgs for 12 reps.

Gym Day 73..Shoulders..

This was done on friday..it didn't go to plan..as when I started my tricep workout my elbow started to hurt so I missed that out..anywho here goes.

Shoulders
- warmed up with 10 reps or lateral raises with 8 kg dumbbells, followed by 10 reps of front raises, followed by 5 reps over over head presses.
- 4 sets of Arnold presses, 16 kgs for 10 reps, 20 kgs for 10 reps, 22 kgs for 10 reps, 25 kgs for wo reps.
- 3 sets of lateral raises, 12 kgs for 10 reps, 10 kgs for 10 reps x2.
- 3 sets of upright rows, 30 kgs for 10 reps, 35 kgs for 10 reps, 40 kgs for 8 reps.
- 1 set of overhead presses, 35 kgs for 8 reps

WEC's first pay per view, its funny how all the promo has been like its for a UFC event, they even got rid of the commentary team and brought in Goldie and Rogan. The Main Event is going to be INSANE. Henderson vs Cowboy Cerrone will be INSANE, there last fight was 2009's fight of the year. I could go on and on about the match ups, they are just top notch. This is easily better then the majority of the UFC's ppv's.

G Frsh - They Know (video)...


B.o.B - The Adventures of Bobby Ray (album review)...



This is a VERY quick and very brief review of the new B.o.B album. B.o.B is an artist I have know about for a while now, been waiting for this album, glad its finally here. I heard about B.o.B the same day I heard about Drizzy Drake, some poster on a forum I go to posted a link to 5 up and coming MC's mixtapes and he was on one them. FYI the mixtapes were for B.o.B, Drake, Kid Cudi, Charles Hamilton and Blu...I'm a big fan of them all, except Blu, who for some reason I never got around to listening.

Anywho on to the album, its VERY dope, has everything, crazy flow, crazy lyrics, different subjects to regular hip hop albums, and some crazy features. To name a few Lupe Fiasco, Eminem and the lead singer of my fav band (Paramore) Hayley Williams. So judging by features alone its off the charts already.

The beats are very nice, the majority of the album was actually produced by B.o.B himself, which really impressed me, even T.I (the owner of the label his label) produced on the album.

What I like most is he isn't your typical rapper, he's not your typical Atlanta rapper, he does it all. Bit of a rock sound, singing, fast rapping, slower rapping. I hate to make the comparison, but its hard not too, he is like a young Andre 3000. I hate to say it as Andre is one of the best to ever do it, he is sooooo dope, and it make me sound like I am comparing B.o.B, but its just the style is similar. They even sound alike.

Rating - 9/10

Gym Day 72..Back and Biceps..

So yesterday did my Back and Bicep work out at work. I've already changed my routine and gone for Back and Biceps rather then a arms day on a Friday..it just hurts to much lol. From now on I need to specify where I worked out as the weights change depending on that. Not sure why the cable machines at work are sooo different. Anywho here goes...

Back
- Warm up, machine lat pulldowns, 20 kgs for 15 reps, followed by 35 kgs for 15 reps, followed by 50 kgs for 10 reps.
- 2 sets of pull-ups, 12 reps, 9 reps.
- 2 sets of palms facing pull ups, 8-10 reps
- 3 sets of pulldowns, 60 kgs for 12 reps, 70 kgs for 10 reps, 80 kgs for 6 reps, dropped weight till I did 12 reps. (all very slow and controlled)
- 2 sets of seated rows, 60 kgs for 12 reps, 75 kgs for 8 reps
- 3 sets of cable rows, 50 kgs for 10 reps, 55 kgs for 10 reps, 60 kgs for 8 reps

Gym Day 71..Chest and Shoulders...

This was on Monday the 19th, what a bad day lol. So I woke up at 5.30 for a 8am start at work, brought my gym stuff along with me as I figured might aswell get it done while I am at work (I work at a gym btw)..

Soooo I get to work, 20 mins early as usual :( and I see one of my colleagues who is on the phone and gives me a funny look..so I am like O_O oh please God NO!! She gets off the phone and tells me exactly what I don't wanna hear, you supposed to be in right now? Noooooooooooooooo...so I go check the rota and I don't start at 8am..I start at bloody 4pm!!! so thats a clean 8 hours early.

I took the L and figured, might aswell go to the gym while I'm here, pretty long journey just to go gym, but what the heck..anywho heres what I did.

Chest
- Warm-Up, 15 reps of 25 kgs of chest press, followed by 15 reps with 25 kgs on the pec dec.
- 3 sets of flat dumbbell bench press, 24 kgs db's for 12 reps, 26 kg db's for 12 reps, 28 kgs for 10 reps
- 3 sets of flat bench flys, 12 kgs for 10 reps, 14 kgs for 10 reps, 16 kgs for 10 reps.
- 3 sets of cable cross overs, 10 kgs for 10 reps
- 3 sets of pec dec, 45 kgs for 10 reps, 55 kgs for 10 reps, 65 kgs for 8 reps.

Shoulders
- Warm-Up, 10 reps of lateral raises with 6kgs dumbbells, followed by 10 reps of front raises, followed by 5 reps of shoulder press.

Went to the gym after work on Friday. After a long ass day at work where I started at 6.30 and we had no change in our tills so any transaction had me worried..I was just waiting for someone to spend 1.10 and give me a £20 note..but I managed it. Anywho after the longness I reallly didn't feel like going, but its when you slack off that you lose all that you've worked for so I powered through.

Triceps
- 4 sets of pushdowns, warm up set with 30 kgs for 20 reps, 55 kgs for 12 reps, 65 kgs - for 10 reps, 75 kgs for 10 reps

HTC Desire Review...


Where do I begin? Oh yeah the phones FUCKING AMAZING...soooo happy with my new toy. Using it makes my old N97 feel like an ancient relic. I will admit, at the time my N97 was amazing, it had a lovely keyboard, plenty of mass memory, and it was the first phone I got with a data plan to use the internet and it was pretty good...BUT using the HTC Desire is just next level.

Lets start with the screen...WOWZER its beautiful, 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen with pinch-to-zoom capability...so you can do all the cool stuff the iphone does, use multi-touch to zoom in to pics, flick from screen to screen with ease. Unlike my N97 that has a resistive touchscreen that required pressure, this one relies on the electrical properties of the human body to detect when and where on a display the user touching. Because of this you only need to lighty touch to use it, no stylus required.

The camera on the device is pretty good, 5 mega-pixel camera with single LED flash. No dedicated camera button, but the trackpad works as a button for this which is no problem to use.
Unlike the iphone which has a pretty boring homescreen which consists of a list of program short cuts, the HTC Desire with its customised Android OS Sense UI 2.1 it has 7...yes 7 homescreens. And you can use these for whatever you want. On my home screens I have:

1. Weather Widget
2. Twitter Widget
3. Music Widget
4. Main Home screen, Clock + Weather, program links for messages, emails, camera and internet
5. Facebook Widget, Youtube Widget, program links for Twitter, photos, calender and maps
6. Web Bookmarks Widget
7. left free for now

So I have pretty much what I want at the flick of my finger. Fancy checking FB its there, Twitter its there, wanna quickly flick to a internet page I can click straight on a bookmark. Quality stuff, very intuitive.

A nice lil feature the phone has is when you unlock the device, once you flick the screen down to unlock, depending on what the weather is the screen will either have rain drops fall which are then washed away by window wipers..or for example if its cloudy..a set of clouds will fly by in the back ground. Its a nice lil touch that always looks cool. The phone also has 'live' wallpapers which are basically animated backdrops, some of which you can interact with. For example pressing on the water background will make ripples, nice lil touch.

I gave the Android Market space a quick look and its pretty darn cool. MUCH better then the Ovi store on my N97. That was a really poor store, hard to navigate, would constantly log you out also. The store on the HTC Desire is great, has a easy to use search feature, apps download and install quickly also. It seems to have alot of apps and alot of variety also.

The phone came with a 4GB Micro SD card, upgradeable to a 32GB card, I will probably eventually get one, but 4 GB is plenty for now. Loads of space for pics, music and apps.

To summarise, so far, VERY impressed. Haven't used it as my real phone properly yet as I haven't got a case and have been to scared to carry it about with me lol, but I will sort that soon. If your thinking of getting a new phone and think Blackberry's are corny and iPhones are too expensive, its defo worth checking out.
